Frequently Asked Questions
Does my family need an account?
No. They get an email asking them to confirm, they click it once, and that's the last thing they ever have to do. Nothing to download, no password, no profile.
Why does this cost money?
To keep it private and ad-free. My Month is a small business, and the $5/month subscription is how we pay for the servers, email service, and our time to keep it running.
How do you use my data?
We don't. We don't read your letters, we don't sell your data, and we don't use it for marketing. We only use your email address to send you a receipt and to send your letters to the people on your list.
Who can read it?
Only the people on your list. Letters aren't published anywhere public and there's no link to send around — if someone isn't subscribed, they don't see it.
What if I skip a month?
Nothing happens. There's no streak to lose and nothing will nag you about it. Write when you've got something worth saying.
Can people unsubscribe?
Every letter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works without asking you. You'll see the change on your subscribers page.
What happens to old letters?
They stay in your account, in order, exactly as they went out. Think of it less as a newsletter tool and more as a year-by-year record you happened to mail to people.
Can I send it to one person?
Yes. Plenty of people write these for a single parent or a couple of old friends. The price doesn't change either way.
